Hardy St. Eatery

August 7, 2021

I really loved the modern Scandinavian-esque decor with that touch of kiwi warmth thrown in. The staff at Hardy St. Eatery were extremely helpful and informative when I asked for assistance in choosing something from the menu and their recommendations were spot on.

Hardy St. Eatery is very conveniently located within the heart of Nelson City and only a few minutes walk from the very popular Nelson Saturday Market. They strive to create that feeling of eating a home cooked meal with creative, seasonal food and, as they state, 'damn good booze and coffee.'

They logo type and logo symbol did catch my attention. The symbol is reminiscent of the location of the building on Hardy St. and Crisps Lane.
The typographic treatment of the hot beverages menu was the next piece of design that grabbed my attention.
I missed the last jam donut but the strawberry cream suggestion was a delightful replacement.
Damn good coffee as promised.
Another chance to admire the brand logo symbol with my decision to stay on for lunch.
I seen reviews that stated this was the 'Best Reuben Sandwich outside of New York!'
Although not a real fire, the fireplace adds character as well as some homely warmth.
Modern & minimalistic decor creates a sense of calm.
The sign says it all.
